How to Use      B.A.R.D.   Mobile For iPhone on such A Site

Navigate to the B.A.R.D. app and select/to open the app.

 

    Page Overview No matter what page you are in, the following four        buttons will be at the bottom.

1.  Bookshelf (downloaded books are kept here)

2.  Get Books (where you select new books)

3. Settings

4.  Now Reading 

 

    Bookshelf

1.          1.  where your downloaded books and    magazines can be accessed.

 2.  Top of the page will read "Bookshelf"

3.  Navigate to the top left corner to "EDIT"

4. Downloads are arranged in four categories

       a. Audio Books

       b. Audio Magazines

       c. Braille Books

       d. Braille Magazines

 

5. "Voice Over " will announce how many items are in each one.

  

 Select One of the categories.

  1.  A new page will open. There is a search bar at the      top. This helps if you have a large amount of titles in a category. You can also arrange your items by title, author or latest.

 

2. "Voiceover “will read the title, author and say "more info".

3. If you select a title you will go to the "NOW   reading" page.

4.  Select "More info" to hear title, author, annotation, narrator, total listening time,

       and book setup.

 5.  The Back button is at the top left corner.

 

      Get Books

There are two ways to "Get books"

1.  Select (“Get Books" from the bottom buttons)

2. Top of page will then read "Get Books"

3. Navigate to "Wish list" where books are saved until downloaded.          

4. Navigate to "Recently added titles".

     These are titles new to the site and are arranged as follows:

    a. Audio books

    b. Audio magazines

    c. Braille books

    d. Braille magazines

5.      The recently added items can be downloaded directly.

      a.  Select a category.

      b. Navigate through the list of titles. If you hear something you want to download, just “Select" and then you will get an alert confirmation.

      c. To get info about the book or magazine flick          to "more info” and select.  If you like what you

         hear and want the item just select download.

 6. Navigate to B.A.R.D.  website heading.

            This opens the website page. Navigate through

        a.  recently added books and magazines (link)

        b. most popular books (link)

 

  7. To search a book go to "Search the collection" and select

  8.   Type the title of the item you are looking for. and select "go"

  9.  Navigate down through   your choices until you find the item you are looking for.

   10.   Select a book. Then navigate down through its        info. The last item in the info will be, “Add to wish List, which you need to do.

 

   Downloading a book from your "wish list"

 1. From the "Get Books" main page Select "wish List"

  2.  Navigate through your list.

  3. when you hear a title you want to download,   Select. Then an alert confirmation appears.

   4. Confirm or cancel if you really do want to download that book or not.

   

  Settings

 This is where you can change the size of the fonts, contrast, the speed of the reader etc.

 

 Now Reading

1. Top reads the title.

 2.  Navigate to "Navigation" Select for chapters or        sections of the book.

 3. Navigate down and "Voice Over " will read the section or chapter you are currently reading as well   as the time read and time left.

  4.   Navigate again, you can bookmark where you are reading.

 5.  Next you will have all the reading playback controls which you can select from the following:

      a. previous  

b. jump by part

      c. next

      d. rewind

      e. play

      f. fast forward

      g. speed   AND tone button, where you can alter the voice rate and the sound of the reading voice.
